Toshiba Xray MicroCT

Functions and Features

Spatial Resolution 5

A high-resolution sensor and enhanced accuracy of image reconstruction software have achieved a spatial resolution of 5µm and finer, which is twice better than conventional models, and a high contrast.

A dramatic improvement in resolution compared with conventional 0.4-million pixel cameras was achieved with a 1.4-million picture element (pixel) high-resolution camera.

What is Micro CT?

Principles of CT (Computed Tomography)

radioscopic image data on an inspection object placed on a sample table is obtained using an X-ray Image Intensifier by turning the table while irradiating object with X-rays. This data is used in reconstruction calculations to generate cross-sectional images. Toshiba’s Micro CT uses a Micro Focus X-ray apparatus as the X-ray source and assures high-resolution cross-sectional images by enlarging images geometrically.

ApplicationExample

Recently, electronic components and parts have been rapidly becoming more precise and dense. Judgment of their internal form has become increasingly difficult. Radioscopic images do not allow correct and accurate inspection of the inside of components or parts that have complex structures. However, a CT scanner can detect fine flaws, foreign matter, separation and other phenomena.
